So - we packed up the car with everything we own an left our home in Whittier to begin the long ass drive across the USA to our Happy Destiny Boat in Venice Florida.
What an adventure! We drove, and drove and we drove some more. 2,670 miles to be exact from door to door.
The drive itself was not so bad. ( well, The State of Texas kind of sucked) but all in all we had a pretty good time. You kind of get an idea of how well you really like each other on such a long trip. We talked, and sang and listed to talk radio. We were quiet, and brimming with excitement and anticipation. We stopped several times and can I just tell you...Rest Stops across the Interstate Highway are spectacular! We didn’t stay stopped at any one place very long. We were on a mission to get to one place by 3:30 pm EST on Saturday. We arrived in the Parking lot of the Venice Yacht Club at 3:29 pm!
