Where We Are
It’s been a very busy week in our world.
On Saturday, when we arrived to our new home in Venice, Florida, we moved everything we own out of car and onto the boat. We didn’t have that much and we were able to get most everything put in its place. We are fortunate that our new boat has a lot of storage and closet space. That is not to say that I have found nooks and crannies to place the things we won’t need to use daily. Our boat was kept in a really beautiful Yacht Club by its former owner. We, as the new owners, who by the way are not wealthy enough to be Yacht Club members, could only stay at this marina until Monday.

Monday, we moved the boat to Casey Key Marina in Osprey, Florida. This is where we will spend the next month or so fixing all the things that are imperative to a safe passage wherever we will go.

We have been shopping! Shopping for all the things we sold at our yard sales!
Towels, washcloths, a kitchen strainer. Shampoo, soap, new sheets. Groceries, a George Forman Grill. You get the picture. We needed boat stuff. Bilge pumps, sump pumps, new water heater. Hoses and clamps. A wet dry vac, a fresh water inlet 😂 . You get the picture. B-O-A-T (break out another thousand). In the midst of all of this running around, Jim and I spent many a minute looking at each other in disbelief. We didn’t buy enough napkins to wipe the smiles off our faces!
This evening, we went for a lovely walk and had an amazing shrimp dinner cooked on the new grill, and stared at an amazing red and pink sky. I have bruises from pinching myself!
